Nancy spent the day at the Nelsons’ house guiding participants of the 2011 Truckee Garden Club Tour around the yard.

I bid you welcome.

The crowds arrive.

It was a perfect day to show off all of our hard work we put in to get the yard ready for the tour.

A copper flower pot on the dock.

There are three copper flower pots on the dock over the water.

The garden was advertised as a true perennial garden. These are the only annuals on the property.

Looking toward the house from the lake.

This is the view of the house you would get when cruising by on your paddleboard on Donner Lake.

“How do you know it’s a Canada Red Chokecherry?” “Uh, because I planted it.”

Nancy spent the day answering zillions of questions.

She lost her voice at one point from talking so much, but she had a good time and actually knew all the answers.

The eagle has landed.

Nancy was exhausted at the end of the day. She received about 500 guests and answered at least a thousand questions.

Everyone on the tour said this was the best yard on this year’s tour.

It was a great experience, and the Nelsons are very proud of their yard.
