Nancy got a few days off from work, so we drove up to Eugene to see my folks and do a little bike riding.

The weather was supposed to be okay, but we spent the weekend dodging rain and going to the movies.

We got a chance to run up Spencer Butte between showers. Spencer Butte is a popular hike at the south end of Eugene. You gain about a thousand feet from the Fox Hollow side and top out at 2000'.

It provides great views on clear days: the Three Sisters, Mt. Washington and Mt. Jefferson are all clearly visible . . . when it’s not raining.
