The state line must be close, right? Mike, Dave, Rich and Vince feeling the altitude up near 9000’.
We rode out to the Nevada state line and back (bikes are forbidden on the Nevada side) and then back to the Martis lookout. This added another 1000’ of climbing and about six miles to the ride.
It was a little more lot more work than I expected, but nobody puked.
C’mon! You can stick it!
We managed to do one last Wednesday afternoon ride before the days got too short—this time headed the other way on the TRT to Watson Lake.

I hadn’t ridden this trail in awhile either, and once again underestimated the effort involved. Oops, sorry guys, I thought it was mostly downhill.

It took longer than I thought to get to Watson Lake. For some reason, rides are always harder than I remember.

Since it was already dusk, we had to hightail it back on the Fiberboard Freeway, an asphalt road that runs from Brockway Summit to Tahoe City.
We got back just before dark. Winter’s coming—no more after-work rides.
